Cyber Security Program Overview

The MCS at TIIS develops advanced knowledge, technical capability, and professional expertise in cyber security. It integrates foundation IT knowledge, core cyber security disciplines, business governance capability, and a capstone project.

From IT foundations to the MCS

  1. Start with the GCIT

    The four GCIT subjects match the MCS foundation component.

  2. Add specialist capability

    Complete six cyber security core subjects and five chosen electives.

  3. Complete the project

    Apply your learning in MCS610, the final component of the 16-subject award.

Progression is subject to admission and credit approval. With all four certificate subjects credited, 12 further subjects complete the 16-subject master’s degree; the certificate is not an additional four subjects. The diagram explains award components, not a guaranteed delivery sequence.

Academic Requirements

A recognised undergraduate degree or equivalent, or a relevant graduate certificate or diploma. GCIT progression and credit are subject to admission and approval.

English Language

IELTS 6.5 overall (no band below 6.0), or equivalent.

Technology Requirements

High-performance computer (min. 16GB RAM recommended), reliable high-speed internet, ability to run virtualisation and cyber security tools.
