March 25, 2019 @ 12:00 pm - March 27, 2019 @ 1:30 pm

INQAAHE 15th Biennial Conference 2019 – Quality Assurance, Qualifications, and Recognition: Fostering Trust in a Globalised World

Hosted by the University Grant Commission Sri Lanka

Program held: 25th – 27th March 2019

Socio-economic and Political Drivers of Quality and Conflict Issues and Outcomes in Australia’s Higher-Education Sector, Chris Wright, The Institute of International Studies (TIIS), Australia

The paper was presented in the session on: Ensuring and promoting trust in a globalised context.

The authors are Drs Chris Wright, Daley Mok, and Samanthala Hettihewa.

The International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE) is an International Quality Assurance body that works closely with National Accreditation bodies (Council for Higher Education Accreditation in USA, European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education in Europe, TEQSA in Australia) and academicians to control educational quality in around 140 countries. Established in 1991.

Increasing higher-education participation is laudable. However, ability-distributions within populations suggest that reaching out to ever-larger-numbers of students means trying to educate ever-less-able parts of the ability distribution, causing soaring-higher-education costs and serious outcomes-quality issues.
