Welcome to TIIS!

With nearly three decades in education, I’ve excelled across sectors, specializing in international education. From starting as a marketing executive, I progressed to roles like a research assistant, holding various academic positions in prestigious Australian institutions. My academic background includes an engineering undergraduate degree and a postgraduate degree in business management. Extensive international travel has allowed me to build a robust education network, and I’ve played a pivotal role in establishing offshore campuses and vocational institutions.

TIIS Learning Centre Manager (Librarian), holds multiple degrees including DBA, MBA, LLM and a Master of Information Studies. He is also a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA Australia) with 25 years of auditing, accounting and finance experience in Hong Kong, mainland China, Australia and America, having been the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director of a US-listed corporation. He is passionate in connecting the academic field with the business world.

Andre Houang CPA is passionate about Accounting education. He is dedicated to continuous growth through both academic and professional development, firmly based on an “innovation mindset”. As an experienced assurance professional with over ten years’ industry experience and an Accounting educator since 2012, Andre has worked at a range of corporate clients and institutions including: Ernst &Young, Scentre, USQ, CSU, WSU and UNSW. Andre believes that education is a lifelong journey, maintained by discipline and commitment, but also enthusiasm and a belief in the positive power of knowledge.

Program Coordinator Accounting

A successful academic with over a decade of experience in leadership roles spanning Foundation, Undergraduate, and Postgraduate curricula in Management and Marketing. She holds a Doctor of Business Administration specialised in International Business. Her experience encompasses a deep understanding of various education systems, including Australian, British, American, and South Asian, which has equipped her to effectively enhance academic excellence through innovative solutions. She is multilingual and is able to speak in English, Sinhalese, and Hindi, with moderate proficiency in French.

Dr Gayathri Goonaratne

Associate Program Coordinator – Business

He has more than ten years of experience in research, academia, and industry in Information and Communication Engineering and Computer science, specifically wireless networks, the Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, and Information and Network Security. Yousaf Bin Zikria has worked as a senior lecturer at the Victorian Institute of Technology (VIT), Sydney, and as associate BITS coordinator from 2023 to 2024. Previously, he worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Information and Communication Engineering, College of Engineering, Yeungnam University, Gyeongsan, South Korea, from 2018 to 2022. He was a postdoctoral fellow from 2016 to 2017 and a research assistant from 2012 to 2016 at Yeungnam University. He also served as a Lecturer at King Khalid University, Saudia Arabia, from 2011 to 2012. After his master’s, he worked as an Information Security researcher at Horizon Tech Services Ltd from 2007 to 2011. He authored over 100 scientific peer-reviewed journals, magazines, conference papers, patents, and book chapters. His journal article’s cumulative impact factor (IF) is over 500, with over 5000 citations. He has been listed in the world’s top 2% of researchers (2021,2022,2023), published in Elsevier by Stanford University. His dedication to work is unwavering, ensuring the reliability and quality of contributions.

Dr. Yousaf Bin Zikria (Senior Member IEEE)

Program Coordinator – IT/Cyber Security

Has a PhD in Business Management from RMIT University and has been engaged in teaching and research for almost 15 years. She is an experienced educator, has taught several business courses and performed academic and leadership roles within universities and higher education institutes. Moreover, her research has been published in high-ranking conferences in the USA, Europe and Australia. Her teaching style focuses on identifying the needs of students and helping them recognize their abilities and talents. 

Dr Wajeeha Khalil

Assistant Program Coordinator – Business, TIIS Melbourne

She completed Master of Engineering majoring in Augmented Reality (coursework and research) from Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) and Master by research (Computing) from University of Tasmania. In addition, she has an extensive University/College ICT teaching, tutoring, and unit coordination since 2019 with some unit commendations. The universities include University of Tasmania, Canterbury Institute of Management, and Monash College.

Elisabeth brings her diverse academic and professional experience to her role, making her a significant contributor to the growth and success of TIIS Melbourne.

Megan brings a wealth of corporate governance and education expertise to the role.  Having commenced her career as a teacher then moving into education operations and transitioning to corporate governance Megan is a recognised leader in organisational transparency, accountability and risk management with a focus on people, purpose, process and performance. Her background extends across corporate affairs, finance, C-suite roles, company secretary and Board directorships within Government, the not for profit and private sectors. In her spare time Megan enjoys returning to her speech and drama Trinity College roots as well persevering in bringing her mango and fig trees to fruit!

Her expertise extends to fostering growth for startups, playing a crucial role in their development.

Has been marketing Vocational Education Training (VET) courses at RTO since 2019. Today, she’s expanding into Higher Education, broadening her skills. With Indonesian and Thai roots and a degree in Fashion Merchandising, Audrey brings a diverse perspective to her work. Her blend of cultural insight and marketing savvy creates engaging campaigns that appeal to a wide audience

Currently holding the position of Marketing officer at TIIS Melbourne, Ben spearheads enrollment endeavors across the East Asia region with precision and dedication.

With a Masters degree in Entrepreneurship and Management and more than 10 years of experience in managing student service in higher education institutes with multicultural backgrounds, Pritika brings extensive experience of leading operations of core functions such as admissions, registrations, examinations, results, transcripts, verifications, student surveys and graduations to make students’ journey a smooth one.  As the TIIS Academic Registrar, her goals involve contributing towards the success of students and the institute by providing excellent customer service to all students, staff and stakeholders and ensure the accuracy and integrity of all student data

Mohammad Momeni has been teaching marketing subjects in Australian higher education sector for the last 7 years. He has taught different marketing subjects at different levels in University of Wollongong, Western Sydney University, and The Institute of International Studies. Mohammad has also been nominated for The Vice-Chancellor’s Awards for Outstanding Contributions to Teaching and Learning (OCTAL) at University of Wollongong.

With over two decades of business and management teaching experience, along with over three decades in the Australian workforce, Mohammed brings an applied approach to his teaching. He holds a Masters in International Education, by research, relating to higher education pathway programs. Additionally, Mohammed holds a range of post graduate vocational qualifications. Mohammed is a member of several academic committees and forums at various Australian universities. Mohammed has co-published an article on student belonging in the higher education sector.

Wesley Clarke

Senior Advisor to the President

Betty Bowman joined the faculty in 2002, and received tenure there in 2007. Before joining the faculty, she was a visiting assistant professor at Syracuse University College of Law. Prior to that, she was a legal consultant with JPMorgan Chase; a contract attorney for Cravath, Swaine & Moore; and an assistant prosecutor for the Ministry of the Attorney General in Toronto, Canada.

Betty Bowman

Acting Vice President for Finance

Having served 15 years in the Australian and Singapore higher education sectors leading and managing student success and academic quality in roles such as Director, Student Academic and Career Success at UNSW, Deputy Director, Learning and Teaching Unit, and Associate Director, Student Learning and Development, both at the University of Southern Queensland; she is most proud of the Enterprise Award from the Singapore Prime Minister’s Office in 2001 and 2003 for innovation in education and having created the highest new value to the public service. She graduated with a PhD in Education (Student Development), an MBA in Marketing, and a Bachelor of Science in Information Management.

Began his educational journey two decades ago, initially in a boutique institute. His progression from teaching information technology to heading departments and directing studies is driven by a commitment to servant leadership and a “students first” philosophy. Gana’s expertise extends to areas such as authentic learning, flipped curriculum, and management topics like the impact of casualization on work-life integration.
